Cosmetics

Cosmetic products must meet the same requirements as pharmaceutical products (ICH Q1A and ICH Q1B).

The validity of all products in the cosmetics sector (creams, hygiene products, etc.) is evaluated according to their resistance under climatic conditions analogous to those used to test medicines.

In the field of cosmetics, the most frequent tests are therefore stability tests (long-life test, fatigue test, real-time ageing test and accelerated ageing test, etc.). Our chambers allow the artificial creation of ambient temperatures generally ranging from 8° C to 25° C, and up to temperatures approaching 50° C. Products can also be exposed to light and humidity, as required. All these tests are used to determine the stability and conservation and, by extension, to set the expiry date of products in order to ensure consumer safety.

Warning! Often based on solvent powder or alcohol, make-up and perfumes must be handled and tested with care: for testing, they require a special chamber - known as an ATEX chamber - to avoid any risk of explosion.
